What is Local Storage?

Unlike cookies, it is not attached to every request your browser makes to us — it stays in your browser until it is cleared, and our app reads it to remember your preferences. Session storage works the same way but is scoped to a single browser tab and is erased when that tab closes.

Consent and Control
Cookies used for Marketing/Analytics purposes are strictly opt-in and are managed through a cookie consent banner displayed on our website. If you wish to change your preferences at any time, you can clear the stagetimer_cookie_consent cookie from your browser settings to trigger the consent banner to reappear. This enables you to update your settings and opt-in or out of specific cookie categories.
It’s important to note that while functional cookies are essential for certain aspects of the website to operate, you have control over the use of marketing and analytics cookies, which can be adjusted according to your preferences.
What Local Storage Does Stagetimer Use?
The Stagetimer web app stores the following in your browser’s local storage. Everything below is set by us, not by a third party.

The two Marketing/Analytics entries are recorded when you first arrive, before you have an account. The next time you sign in they are sent to us and linked to your account, so that we can understand how people find Stagetimer; the referral details are then cleared from your browser, and the entry page is marked as already sent. If you never sign in, they are never sent to us.
Session Storage

Storage Set by Our Service Providers
The services named in the cookie table above, along with Firebase Authentication (which keeps you signed in), Sentry (which reports errors so we can fix them) and Paddle (which handles checkout), may also store data in your browser under their own names. That data is governed by their respective privacy policies, linked from our Privacy Policy.
Clearing Local Storage
Local and session storage are cleared the same way as cookies: through your browser’s “clear browsing data” or per-site data settings. Clearing it signs you out and resets the preferences listed above, but it does not delete anything from your Stagetimer account.
